I. Summary

Tashkent Sinotrans Representative Office is located in Central Asia, in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. This representative office was established in 2003 by Sinotrans Land Bridge Transport Co., Ltd., and is highly reputable in the logistics sector of Uzbekistan. Presently there are 3 employees from China and 2 employees from Uzbekistan at the Representative Office. The office is located at: 34, Babura St., room 7, 4th floor, Babur Business Center, Tashkent. We are currently working on the establishment of Sinotrans Tashkent Company.

II. Key indicators

  1. Transit operations. Since 1992, after the collapse of the Soviet Union and the establishment of Daewoo Motors in Uzbekistan, a large number of auto parts were delivered from South Korea through the port of Lianyungang to Andijan Prefecture, Uzbekistan. The representative office has been working in Uzbekistan since that time and is now one of the long-term logistics agents of GM Uzbekistan;
  2. Opening of the Representative Office: in 2003, a representative office of Sinotrans was established in Tashkent, which is responsible for collection of market data, procurement and management of foreign service providers, management of its own containers, as well as customer marketing;
  3. Cotton transportation: since 2013, Sinotrans Land Bridge Transport Co., Ltd. has won a tender to import Chinese cotton and Chinese textile cotton. Shipment volume is about 100,000 tons per year, and the representative office is mainly responsible for preparing the dispatch on site and documentation process;
  4. Export container trains: since 2016, the Representative Office assists Sinotrans Land Bridge Transport Co., Ltd., by opening container transportation on Lianyungang-Tashkent route with a total of 83 trains, container trains becoming an important means of transportation from China to Asia and Europe;
  5. Cotton yarn transportation: with the transformation of Uzbekistan's economy, the volume of cotton exports decreased, and cotton yarn began to be exported in large quantities. Since 2016, container transportation of cotton yarn from Uzbekistan to China has become one of the main activities of the Representative Office, and 4 to 6 container trains are still shipped per month;
  6. Project logistics: from December 2016 to the beginning of 2018, the Representative Office has won the bid for road freight transportation in the foreign segment under the project of moving the cotton yarn factory by Jiangsu Jinsheng Group. The Representative Office was responsible for maritime transportation, customs clearance of all goods under the project, and for the first time successfully provided services such as transportation and double customs clearance, providing a reliable logistics for the successful implementation of the project.

III. Services

  1. Project logistics: having extensive experience, the Representative Office is able to provide a full range of project logistics services, including road transportation and customs clearance;
  2. Container deposit: container management in the foreign segment, including container return supervision and tracking, collection of containers abroad and provision of bulk containers abroad;
  3. Motor transport delivery abroad, as the current destination of all container trains is the capital, Tashkent, which does not meet the market needs. The representative office can also provide its customers with road delivery services from Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, to all places in Uzbekistan at favorable prices and with high efficiency, ensuring delivery across Uzbekistan within 3 days;
  4. Loading of container trains for their return to China: return trains are operated all year round. The Representative Office has accumulated a wealth of experience in container trains return freight, is able to professionally provide containers, collect cargo at the shipping station, prepare transport documentation and supervise the shipment.

IV. Development plans

  1. Consolidation of existing operations, in-depth understanding of Uzbek legislation;
  2. Setting up a company, integrating local primary resources, and providing higher quality services in road transport, customs clearance, container sales, etc.;
  3. Cooperation with the Chinese Railway or other platforms to develop better transport routes;
  4. Combining the regional platform advantages, reach out to most countries and regions in Asia and Europe;
  5. Investments in container yards or other facilities to increase competitiveness.
